MONDAY, MAY 13, 2024 | The Warsaw Legacy

  • Uprising! – Explore the remains of the Warsaw Ghetto and learn about the Jewish community's famous revolt along the Route of Heroes and at Rappaport Memorial
  • Umschlagplatz – Gathering place before transfer to Treblinka Death Camp
  • Warsaw Jewish Cemetery - Visit the life of Pre-war Jewish life.
  • Nozyk Synagogue - Only functioning synagogue from before the war.

TUESDAY, MAY 14, 2024 | Destruction

  • Tykocin -  Travel north from Warsaw to the small town of Tykocin. A town with a Jewish presence from the early 1500's until the it's tragic end in the war.
  • Treblinka - The infamous Nazi death camp. A solemn visit to the stark Treblinka Memorial. 
  • Return to Warsaw for a closing dinner and reflections.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 2024 | Glory of Polish Jewry until... 

  • Otwock - This spa town on the outskirts of Warsaw which was a favorite destination spot of Warsaw Jewry. Janusz Korczak had his orphanage's summer camp was in the outskirts of the town. It was home to the world-renowned Jewish Mental Health centre.
  • Lublin - Arrive to Lublin and enter the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva, a famed center of Jewish learning and the site of a massive Nazi book burning
  • Majdanek - Arrive to the Majdanek concentration camp, originally set up for prisoners of war but soon turned into an infamous death camp for Jews and Poles.
  • Izbica -  A vibrant town that was over 95% Jewish before the war. The Jews of Izbice were transported to Sobibor.
  • Lezajsk (Lizensk) - The grave of R’ Elimelech of Leżajsk attracts pilgrims from around the world making the surviving cemetery one of the largest sites of Jewish pilgrimage in Poland and still an important Chassidic center.

THURSDAY, MAY 16, 2024 | Before and After

  • Lancut Synagogue - The synagogue from 1761 has been stunningly restored with wall decorations from 18th and 19th centuries.
  • Markowa - A small town close to Łańcut in which we can tell the remarkable story of those who put their lives at risk to save the lives of Jews during the Holocaust.
  • Plaszow - The area of Płaszów was home to two of Krakow’s Jewish cemeteries before the war. The cemeteries were destroyed to make way for the Płaszów Labour camp under the command of the infamous Amon Goeth.

FRIDAY, MAY 17, 2024 | Oswiecim & Confronting Auschwitz

  • Auschwitz Jewish Center - The Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot synagogue is the only surviving Jewish house of prayer in Oświęcim.. The Nazis devastated its interior and used the building as a munitions warehouse. After World War II, Jewish survivors in Oświęcim once again used it as a synagogue. 
  • Arrive at the grounds of Auschwitz I where the full horror of the extermination of 1.5 million Jewish People is palpable. Here we will tour the watchtowers, fences, cell blocks, wall of death, crematoria, and Arbeit Macht Frei Gate.

SHABBAT, MAY 18, 2024 | Shabbat - Vibrant Judaism

  • Shabbat in Krakow - We will enjoy the special Shabbat atmosphere in the historic Jewish area of Krakow. We will pray in some of the gorgeous ancient synagogues and walk the streets that were once teeming with Jews from all walks of life.
  • Kazimierz - The Jewish quarter in Kraków, known as Kazimierz, comprises the most intact and significant collection of Jewish buildings in Central Europe today.
  • Krakow Ghetto - Over the bridge from Kazimierz is the former WWII ghetto.
  • Schindler's Factory - The original enamelware factory acquired by German industrialist Oskar Schindler during WWII. It eventually became the place in which he saved over 1000 Jews and was made famous by Steven Speilberg's 'Schindler's List'.

SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2024 | Birkenhau - Stain on Polish soil

  • Birkenau - Birkenau was the site of the largest mass murder within the Auschwitz camp. Our visit today will explore original barracks and the remains of the gas chamber and crematorium complexes. It was here that the vast majority of Jews were murdered or imprisoned.
  • Time to explore Krakow.
  • Early night to prepare for early morning flight to Tel Aviv.

  • Travel - Early morning flight from Krakow to Tel Aviv.

  • Old City - Enjoy a tour of the Old City, Kotel and Western Wall tunnels.
